Distance Education Program

Mail and Web-based lessons provide professional development opportunities for practitioners. The Better Kid Care Distance Education Program helps childcare providers maintain their PA Department of Public Welfare certificate of compliance or registration.

New Staff Orientation

Meets Keystone STARS standards for new staff
The New Staff Orientation is a center director facilitated self-study curriculum.  The curriculum provides new center staff with training that can be initiated immediately, on-site, and with director supervision and input.  Each of the 30 units are designed to use during nap time or other small blocks of time as staff/child ratios permit.

Home-Based Caregiver Orientation

Meets Keystone STARS Core Series Training Requirements
This orientation package is intended for people caring for children in their homes. This three-part series covers what you need to know about establishing, running, and maintaining a successful childcare business and presents important information about understanding and supporting the developmental needs of each child in your care.

Our new DVD format will be easy for workshop facilitators to deliver and it includes lots of participant interaction.  Each 2-hour workshop will include an instructor’s manual, DVD with video clips, planned activities and camera-ready participant handouts.
